Drink Recommendations
You are all welcome to order a drink of your choice, but we are sharing our personal recommendations for drinks to maximize and complement your dining experience.
You will be asked to provide your drink choice on three occasions, at the:
Reception
Refreshments
Dinner
Here are our personal recommendations:
A. For the reception and refreshments, our favorite alcoholic choices are:
"Die Edle von Goldeck" Sparkling wine from Schlumberger (from the historic Goldeck winery in Bad Vöslau, this vintage-dated Sekt is created using traditional methods and is characterized by its crisp, spicy, and subtly peppery notes)
Grüner Veltliner, Winery Hagn (this is the most highly regarded white wine grape variety in Austria)
Ottakringer Helles draught beer (this is the flagship draught lager of the historic Ottakringer Brewery)
B. For the reception and refreshments, our favorite NON-alcoholic choice is the:
Elder-mint-lime soda (this is the drink of the season; a refreshing elderflower, mint, lime, and soda drink with bright citrus notes, gentle floral sweetness, and a crisp, cooling finish)
C. For dinner, we recommend the following:
For white wine: Grüner Veltliner, Winery Hagn (this is the most highly regarded white wine grape variety in Austria)
For red wine: Zweigelt from the Klosterneuburg Abbey Winery (this is a fruit-forward red wine from one of the oldest wineries in Austria)
For beer: Ottakringer "Wiener Original" drauht beer (traditional Vienna Lager brewed using a more-than century old technique from the Ottakringer Brewery)
